Fire Safety Training in Leeds & Bradford
In England and Wales, if you’re an employer, owner, landlord or occupier of business or other non-domestic premises, you’re responsible for fire safety and are known as the ‘responsible person’. All employers are required to ensure employees are aware of Fire Precautions at their place of work.
Flamstop can provide a selection of training programmes with the two by far most common being the following. The majority of our training takes place in the Leeds or Bradford area but we can create bespoke fire safety training courses for any region.
All our courses count towards CPD and may be required as part of a Fire Risk Assessment. Your Fire Risk Assessment will detail the exact training employers are obliged to provide by law.
Fire Awareness Course
What will you cover?
• Understanding the mechanics of fire
• Classification of fires
• Methods of extinguishing fires
• Mechanics of fire
• Types of fire extinguisher
• Fire prevention
• Current legislation.
• Employees responsibilities
This is then followed by the practical where you will be taken through the different types of extinguishers and their uses, then take part in a practical demonstration of the equipment.
This course lasts approximately 2hrs with all candidates receiving a certificate of completion
Fire Marshall Course
What will you cover?
This course covers everything you need to know about your role and responsibilities as a Fire Marshall. In larger premises the appointment of Fire Marshals may be necessar who in the event of a fire can tackle a small fire using the appropriate extinguisher if it is safe to do so. This popular course gives candidates a clear understanding of what is involved in being an effective Fire Evacuation Warden.
We cover theoretical and practical implications to enable candidates to undertake an efficient and orderly evacuation of a building in an emergency situation. This course also includes the same fire awareness and practical extinguisher use as our Fire Awareness Course
This course lasts approximately 3hrs with all candidates receiving a certificate of completion.
